ROBERT H. WATERS
With pride, we honour the tradition of the firm by including and continuing the name of ROBERT H. WATERS, a leader in our community and the local legal profession for 42 years. Bob passed away in 2010 but remains as a household name in this region where his contribution to minor sports, municipal politics, his compassion for his clients and his community leadership live on, fondly remembered by many.

Scott joined the firm with over 25 years of experience as a respected voice in court rooms across southwestern and central Ontario. He is an experienced criminal trial lawyer and former Assistant Crown Attorney. Scott also practices in real estate, Wills and estates, estate planning, family law, and civil litigation.

Called to the Bar of Ontario in 2016, Brent joined us in 2020 with intensive experience in wills, estate administration, and substitute decision making at a law office in Windsor. Brent is glad to continue building upon these areas and is enthusiastic to expand his practice in real estate law, corporate law, and other areas. Brent endeavors to provide clients with the best services possible by giving knowledgeable, detailed, and conscientious attention to their issues and concerns. Originally from London, Ontario, Brent is extremely pleased to be joining Elmira’s wonderful community. In his free time, Brent enjoys reading history, camping and visiting museums and galleries.

Cynthia is a lawyer with over 35 years experience serving the legal needs of our community with respect to corporate law, real estate law, family law, wills and estates. Her skills as a negotiator and her professional understanding of real estate challenges and potential pitfalls, contracts, corporate structures and estate planning issues are respected throughout the region’s legal community.
MICHELLE BARBOSA-MACEDO

Michelle graduated from Conestoga College in 2014 and received her Paralegal License in January of 2015. Michelle has been working in the legal field since 2014, with experience in Labor Relations, Family Law, Civil Litigation, Criminal Law, Landlord and Tenant Matters, Provincial Offences and Small Claims Court. Michelle has been with the firm since early 2020 supporting Scott Grainger and our litigation clients.
BRITTANY HAHN
Family Law
Brittany joined the firm in 2022 and serves as a litigation assistant, providing exceptional support to our legal team. Dedicated to ensuring every client receives outstanding care and provides personalized support and guidance throughout each legal journey. Outside of the office, Brittany enjoys spending time with her loved ones. You can frequently find her at the rink cheering on her children’s teams. During the warmer months, she loves spending time at the lake, soaking up the sun and reeling in a big catch.

Reception Leader, Will and Estates Clerk
Joyce is a long-time resident of Elmira and raised her family here and is now enjoying the gift of being a Nana. She comes to us with many years of banking background and a love for serving clients. In her spare time, she enjoys board games, music, reading and camping. Loves to spend time with family, friends and her church community. Joyce will be excited to meet you in her role as reception leader and estate clerk.

Sue is one of our Real Estate Law Clerks with 45 years of experience. In her free time, Sue likes to enjoy time with family and friends, read, play competitive horseshoes, garden, and act as secretary of the Elmira Kiwanis Music Festival.

Lee-Anne joined the firm in 2023. She earned her Law Clerk diploma with Honour in 2020 and currently works in our real estate department. Lee-Anne is a proud, long-time member of our Woolwich community. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading good literature and walking her Dachshund.

Nicole joined the firm in 2024. She earned her Law Clerk Diploma with honours in 2020 and currently works in our real estate department. She enjoys spending time with my husband and three children.

Kaitlyn is currently on maternity leave and will return in September 2025. Kaitlyn joined the firm in 2015 and enjoys serving the needs of the clients and her coworkers. She also has a diploma in accounting and works with Kathy in the accounting department. In her spare time, she enjoys keeping busy with her young family of 5.

Kathy joined the firm in 2022 with Kaitlyn in the accounting department. Kathy has a degree in Business Administration and is a versatile team member ready to help wherever needed. Outside of work her passion is her children and young grandchildren.

Ashton joined the firm in 2021 and has had a variety of roles and responsibilities. She is currently studying at the University of Guelph and plans to graduate April 2025. Ashton is currently working in the corporate department as a corporate clerk.

Jason came to WHG Law with an extensive background in Real Estate both locally and in Toronto as a Broker working in Residential, Commercial and Agricultural Real Estate Sales. He is known for being very approachable and having a genuine passion for seeing clients succeed in their business and personal endeavors. Jason enjoys the challenges that come with supporting clients, assisting a great team of lawyers with communicating the best solutions to correspond with their client’s goals. He relies heavily on building relationships and sharing an interest in the lawyer and client business relationship. It is exciting to be a part of the client experience and overall success of each of our corporate clients, not just the numbers.
